A forum is a group of individuals of like disciplines representing various WAHSA members who meet for mutual support, information sharing, improving professional skills, contributing to WAHSA goals, and other agreed upon purposes consistent with the functions of WAHSA.

WAHSA recognizes the contributions forums can make toward WAHSA goals and objectives.  It is WAHSA's intention to allow for a structure for forums by which contributions to WAHSA goals can be more readily accomplished.  Therefore, supervisory personnel of each like discipline or residents should have the opportunity to meet on a periodic basis with their peers.

Forums shall only be composed of residents or personnel from WAHSA voting member organizations.  Personnel from potential member organizations, speakers, individual affiliates, and students may attend meetings at the invitation of the forum.                               

The purposes and operational procedures of forums shall be defined by the bylaws and board policies of WAHSA.  They shall not have their own bylaws, but like other WAHSA committees, shall be conducted by Robert's Rules of Order and have a Chairperson and Secretary, elected by the forum.  (WAHSA bylaws should make specific reference to forums, their purposes, their composition, and their governance.)

Forums may generate their own areas of interest.  Minutes of forums shall be taken and copies forwarded to the WAHSA office for distribution to the membership.  Forums may occasionally charge a small fee for a forum meeting to pay an honorarium for speakers.  The forum is responsible for collecting and disbursing these monies.
